Platja d’Aro, one of the most Cosmopolitan towns on the Costa Brava, strongly recovered this tradition in 1978. Year after year it has been consolidating itself as the largest carnival event in the area given the participation of more than 4,000 extras, belonging to 70 different groups, which parade under the watchful eye of citizens and visitors to the rhythm of musical bands from the rest of Catalonia and even Europe.
